Prepositions with the dative: time

ἐν τούτῳ δὲ τῷ καιρῷ αἱ μὲν κύνες προσκείσονται
‘At that moment the dogs will start attacking.’ (Xen. Hunt. 10.10)
The preposition ἐν with the dative signals a point in time.

- ἐπί (close to, by, on).
Varia
In poetry ἀμφί is also found; in Herodotus ἐπί is often used.
Example Sentences:
καὶ κινδυνεύεις ἐν καιρῷ τινι οὐκ ἐγεῖραί με
And perhaps you're not waking me at the right time. [provisional translation] ֍
γέλως μὴ πολὺς ἔστω μηδὲ ἐπὶ πολλοῖς μηδὲ ἀνειμένος
