Prepositions with the accusative: duration
νῦν δʼ, εἰ μένειν δεῖ, μίμνʼ ἐφʼ ἡμέραν μίαν
‘Now, if it is necessary, stay another day.’ (Eur. Med. )
The prepositions ἐπί and παρά with the accusative signal a duration.
Lexical usage
Less frequent are ἀμφί, ἀνά, διά (in poetry), εἰς, κατά and ὑπό.
κτῆμά τε ἐς αἰεὶ μᾶλλον ἢ ἀγώνισμα ἐς τὸ παραχρῆμα ἀκούειν ξύγκειται
