κτήσει, ἔφη, ἀγαθῶν οἱ εὐδαίμονες εὐδαίμονες

‘For, he said, fortunate people are fortunate due to the possession of good things.’ (Plat. Sym. 205a)

The dative signals a cause as a satellite.
